Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce
A simple classic homemade marinara sauce served over spaghetti, which can also be used as a pizza sauce.
Ingredients
- 500g Peeled Tomatoes
- 1 Onion
- 6 cloves of Garlic
- Handful of fresh basil leaves
- 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 300g Spaghetti
- Pecorino Romano and EV Olive Oil for garnish
Method

Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic cloves.

Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat, then sauté the onion and garlic until softened and fragrant.

Add the peeled tomatoes, crushing them gently with a spoon, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Simmer the sauce over low heat, then tear and stir in the fresh basil leaves.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until al dente.

Drain the spaghetti and toss it directly into the marinara sauce until well coated.

Serve hot, garnished with grated Pecorino Romano and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
