The Best Beef Quesa Tacos

Flavorful seasoned beef quesa tacos made with tender chuck roast, melted cheese, onions, and cilantro on toasted corn tortillas.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Lbs Chuck Roast, cut into small pieces
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 Tsp Ancho Chili Powder
  • 1 Tsp Coarse Salt
  • 1 1/2 Coarse Black Pepper
  • 1 Small Diced Onion
  • Corn tortillas
  • Shredded Cheese (Oaxaca, Monterey Jack, or mozzarella)
  • Additional Olive oil for cooking
  • Fresh Cilantro, Chopped
  • Guacamole (optional, for serving)
  • Habanero Hot sauce (optional, for serving)
  • Lime Wedges (optional, for serving)

Method

    In a bowl, toss the chopped chuck roast with olive oil, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, ancho chili powder, coarse salt, and coarse black pepper until evenly coated.

    Heat a skillet or flat-top grill over medium-high heat and cook the seasoned beef until browned and cooked through, then remove and set aside.

    Lightly oil the cooking surface and lay down corn tortillas.

    Add shredded cheese across the tortillas, then top half of each with the cooked beef, diced onion, and fresh cilantro.

    Fold the tortillas over to form tacos and cook, flipping occasionally, until the tortillas are crispy and the cheese is fully melted.

    Serve hot with guacamole, habanero hot sauce, and lime wedges if desired.
